Gadget Development

The launch of Windows Vista means that your company or brand can now be delivered directly to user desktops on a massive scale.

Did you know: Microsoft sold more than 20 million licenses for Vista in the first month of release, and expects that the operating system to eventually be installed on 200 million (!) computers.

How do I take advantage of this revolution?
Vista has what’s called the Sidebar. It’s an application that is installed by default, allowing a user to download modules called Gadgets, and integrate them into the desktop.

Sidebar Gadgets offer huge possibilities. They’re not restricted by size or styling, and they can perform a wide variety of tasks - from telling you how much memory you have free, to displaying news from an RSS feed, to letting you know what phase the moon is in!

What can I do with this?
A live newsfeed (or image slideshow, or streaming audio, or streaming video, etc) can be pulled directly from your website and delivered to millions of Vista users. Or if you’re wanting to build brand awareness, then how about an addictive game, or media player, or countdown timer - all with your brand in a prominent location? There’s just so much you can do with this technology, and I’ll help you get there.

This new and untapped market is going to grow quickly once people start to realise what can be achieved! The sooner you jump on board the train, the bigger the impact will be.

How can you help me?
I can develop and style a custom Sidebar Gadget for you. It can be built to your specifications, or we can work together to form a solution based on an existing need.

With an extensive background in general and interface design, and in online marketing, I realise that appearance is everything with Gadgets - and yours will be crafted and styled to make as much impact as possible. Some other gadget developers just don’t cut it visually - but I do!

Why not drop me a message, and let’s work together to make your Gadget great!
